Yesterday (14Dec) the JSE All Share index lost 481points, closing 1.49% lower at 31 727 points. This was driven by a global sell-off in commodities and a continues increase in worries about Europe.
Financial index down 1.15% , Industrial index down 0.66% and the Resources index up 2.59%.
European markets yesterday:
The FTSE100 down 2.25%, DAX down 1.90%, CAC40 down 2.90%.
The American markets last night joined the global trend, as we also saw Gold falling below the 1600 level.
Down Jones down 1.10%, S&P500 down 1.13% and the Nasdaq down 1.55%.
The Asian markets this morning:
Nikkei down 1.50%, Hang-Seng down 2.02%

European markets yesterday saw losses across the board, driven by Euro Debt Crisis concerns.
The FTSE100 down 1.83%, DAX down 3.03%, CAC40 down 2.25%.
The American markets also followed the negative global trend: Down Jones down 1.34%, S&P500 down 1.49% and the Nasdaq down 1.31%.
The Asian markets are trading lower this morning, due to European-credit rating concerns:

This was once again due to optimism in the Euro-zone to find a solution for the European debt crisis. Financial index up 1.60% , Industrial index up 0.46% and the Resources index up 0.66%.
Europe also had a positive trading day , the FTSE100 gained 0.28% and the DAX were up 0.38%.
The American markets last night: Down Jones up 1.65%, S&P500 up 1.03% and the Nasdaq up 1.10%.
The Asian markets this morning trading in the red as European debt worries increased in the region, and the Australian central bank cut rates for the second month in a row: Nikkei donw 1.17%, Hang-Seng down 1.51%, ASX down 1.45%.

On Friday (02Dec) the JSE All Share index lost 137 points, closing 0.42% lower at 32 610. Financial index down 0.30% , Industrial index down 1.02% and the Resources index down 0.15%. Although the index closed lower, last week was the biggest weekly gain in 10 weeks for the All Share index.
In Europe on Friday, the FTSE100 gained 1.15% and the DAX were up 0.70%.
The American markets closed flat on Friday evening.
The Asian markets this morning : Nikkei up 0.45% and the Hang-Seng up 0.39%, ASX up 0.78%.

Yesterday (30Nov) the JSE All Share index saw its biggest one-day gain in 18 months, closing 1176 (3.72%) points higher, closing at 32 812 points. This rally was driven by a global rally, after central banks moved towards improvements in financial liquidity conditions. Financial index rallied by 3.91% , Industrial index closed up 3.45% and the Resources index closed higher by 4.63%.
In Europe yesterday, the FTSE100 gained 3.16% and the DAX rallied 4.91%.
In America last night, the Dow Jones Industrial index gained 4.24%, S&P500 rose 4.3% and the Nasdaq ended higher by 4.17%.
The Asian markets this morning continued the global rally: Nikkei up 2.36% and the Hang-Seng rallied 5.85%.
